Suzuki Quadrunner 4 stroke 4wheeler atv 230cc with reverse $500

DarkoStoj

A mysterious figure named Darko
I got this in a trade and am not going to keep it around.

it looks like a 80's model
230cc 4 stroke
with reverse
manual clutch
starts up but will not stay running

the bad:

a little beat up, but nothing really bad
looks like the chain broke and one point and took out the left engine cover. Looks like someone tried to weld it and did a shitty job so it leaks from that area.

Figure its worth $500

I had a quadsport 250 that was similiar to this quad. Beat the snot out of it and never missed a lick. These will top out with stock gearing in the mid 50 mph range and handle fairly well for an older quad. Man I miss mine!

I had it running for a couple minutes when I first got it, and I was definitely surprised.

Got any pictures of the cracked area?

To fix it right, the crank case would need to be split, and that side of the case would need to be replaced, correct?

More than likely it's just the left side cover. If it is, buy new/fix that one properly and reinstall. Easy fix. New they are between 100-200 ish.

so it looks like the case wouldn't need to be split, that would be sweet!

My guess would be no but you'll need a picture from him to confirm. Actually now that I think about it the picture I posted is the right side cover not the left because I see the oil level window in this picture. Here's what the left should look like.

yep thats the one!

Super easy fix for someone. Remove shift level, unbolt, slide new/fixed cover on and that's it.

have you actually test drove it?
i'll take it if no one else is in line on it

I did actually test drive it around the lot twice. I think there is a fuel problem that is very random and intermittent...

Its at my work, I'm here all day if you want to come by 248-506-5916

This was the 2nd quad I ever owned. indestructible and great for kids.

Presonally, I would take the rims, reverse them so it is wide and more stable. Relocate the valve stem to the outside of the rim. (if you leave it on the inside, it will hit the brake rotor). take another valve stem, and insert it into the wheel where the original valve stem used to be. (so the valve is inside the tire, it will plug the hole). Done this on several quads over the years.

I did that on a Honda 200 sx before
