suspension setup,what is needed......

the vert looks cool with a cage with the top down.
sounds like his suspension is ok,you may need a 90/10 strut up front and a 50/50 drag shock in the rear.
relocate the battery to the trunk.
remove the front sway-bar.the sway-bar wont alow the weight to transfer properly.
also its hard to get a d.r. to hook on the street with out a good burn out in track bite.

Get some good axles and a 28 inch tire. I've seen cars with bone stock factory susp hook real good with a 28inch tall tire. One of them runs deep into the 9's.

I do have the battery already in the trunk and the front sway bar off the car,is there a better tire to run on the street than the old BFG DR?

if I can figure out how to post pictures of my car on here I will,Im not to good at that stuff yet,I'll have to get my teenager son to do it for me.

i ran a hoosier quick time pro...only suspension i have are south side bars and it hooked pretty good...hoosiers wear out kinda fast though...but they work

i liked my et street radials. but, for a 5 speed car, a dr cant handle the shock of a 5 speed. they're much better off with a automatic. i would by some origional et streets. the non radials.

I dont really just rev and dump the clutch if you know what I mean,as I load the tires and just start to roll,I roll on the gas and let the clutch out all the way and get into it and it still blows the tires off even with 12psi in them.I know I will loose a few tenths but I dont quite have all the goodies in the driveline to feel comfortable to drop the clutch as I may leave some parts here and there. The wife wont let me put anymore money into it right now until I get here 1965 Cyclone on the road for her.But even at a slow roll if I hit the throttle it still bakes the tires.
