Supercharged LS3 1969 Camaro

Today, we had a customer bring his 1969 Camaro in for some tuning. The car was part of a contest held by a local radio station, 94.7 WCSX. JJ & Lynne’s Stone Soup Project was inspired by a fable wherein everyone throws something in the pot to make a great meal. The JJ & Lynne Stone Soup Project harnessed the generosity, expertise and ingenuity of WCSX listeners from around the Detroit area to rebuild a 1969 Camaro from the ground up to raise money for The Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.

It's a very cool car that features an LS3 with a Harrop 2300 intercooled supercharger. We originally put the car on the dyno to see what kind of power it made, but found that it could use some tuning. Maybe it was "detuned" since they didn't know who would win the car, but there was a lot to be had from a tune. The results were almost unbelievable.

Baseline numbers were 362 RWHP / 392 RWTQ. After tuning and no other modification, it made 507 RWHP / 506 RWTQ.

I think I seen this car up there one day in the parking lot.. Same car, color, wheels... About 2 months ago.... Awsome #'s. Bump for Livernoise

That car was sure nice! Well, still is! Unbelievable gains btw. That is great! Like a whole new car.

I don't think it is that the gains are unbelieveable, it is that the original number was ridiculous. 362 RWHP out of a blown LS3? Isn't that what a stock LS3 puts to the tires? Nice work on fixing it though.

Any videos?

Unfortunately, I wasn't here when it was on the dyno , so I didn't get a dyno vid :(

That's true... the numbers before were just about stock LS3 numbers..

I saw that car last year coming home from the woodward dream cruise the wednesday prior when all the Buicks meet at the moose preserve at long lake and telegraph. Nice looking but very slow it took a but whooping from a 6 cylinder with 3 guys in it I give the driver kudos for trying though.
