Has anyone been out fishing? Usually I head up to the Pere Marquette in late summer for salmon. Anyone been up there?
PUlled this off the Michigan DNR fishing report website:

Manistee - Fishing has picked up with a good number of brown trout being caught when using fresh steelhead spawn about one hundred yards down the pier in 6 to 8 feet of water. The north pier has harvested more fish but the south pier is still good. A few small boats have also begun to troll the harbors and shallows of the big lake in search of brown trout. Those targeting menominee off the end of the north pier say the fish are down there but the bite has been slow.
Manistee River - Steelhead fishing is going strong since last weeks high water levels pushed a lot of fresh fish into the river. Fish were also caught in Bear Creek.
Ludington - Fishing is very good off the north pier for steelhead when using spawn at the elbow. The fishing is better on the days that the winds are light.
Pere Marquette River - Has very good steelhead fishing as high water levels pushed fresh fish into the river. Brown trout and suckers have also been caught.
