Well another problem came up.I went to start my car and my car wont start anymore. I replaced the starter solenoid. It just makes one click sound. The battery is charged.

What could be the problem? It was working just fine yesterday and it didnt make any noises like something bad was about to happen.

what type of car? is the solenoid on the starter?
sounds like the starter is bad if the sound you are hearing is the click of the bendix/solenoid

68' mustang 289 is the motor. But wouldnt the starter show some signs before it dies?
The solenoid is not apart of the starter.

check for power and ground at the starter or
put 12 volts to the starter and see if it works
have someone turn the key while tapping on the starter

check the ground wire and make sure its getting power, every starter that i've had go bad never showed any signs before it went bad...

I checked around to see if everything is getting power. I checked the grounds and they seem fine. And when i go to re-connect the battery, how come it keeps sparking when i try to put the wire on the post?
