Speeding Ticket in Lincoln Park

Anyone know if Lincoln Park does the "impeding traffic" swap with speeding tickets?
Most cities around here do it. Just haven't seen any threads on here about the Lincoln Park courts.

I'm about to get a new car in a couple of months, so I don't really want my insurance co to see points on my record if possible. I have no problem paying the fine, just want to minimize the damage.

Try to delay the court date and get the car/insurance before the points hit if they don't change it to impeding.

Yeah, I'm sure all that construction makes them a lot of money. I avoid Southfield as much as possible after getting popped by Allen Park PD while cruising with traffic. They just want the money though and don't care about the points.

If impeding traffic is a moving violation, insurance companies will still charge points. But if it will make you feel better, the state won't add points. Fight the ticket! But you need a non-moving ticket.

Impeding traffic means the exact opposite of a moving violation, you're stopped causing the blocking of traffic.

Ahhhh well I can tell you this, he will show up for the court date (or try his hardest to make it) but they are a city looking for cash, if the officer was Kish I could have helped

I fully expect the officer to show up. I'm never that lucky. I just want to pay the fine, but avoid the insurance hit.

Most broke cities will reduce the penalty in exchange for a slightly higher fine. Some places (like Inkster) this is standard procedure.

romulus is the same way...its all bout the money!!!!!

I've fought plenty of tickets had them all droped to impeding. Have a job at a dealership no points and low insurance =)

Impeding traffic is a moving violation and will still carry insurance points. Fight the ticket and try to get it kicked down to something else.

Just wanted to update this.

Had my court date today, and they gave me "blockade of traffic", which is a $175 fine and no record. The moving violation is dismissed.

Prosecutor said the our records look the same today as they did yesterday. They just want the money.

Impeding traffic does not show up on a driving record. Its not a moving violation, it basically a high priced parking ticket.
