I'm trying to figure out what color a car I am getting was originally painted. It is a 73 Z28 and the original color seems to be black and the paint code on the cowl tag is just two dashes like - - . I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone knows if - - means special paint? Will the build sheet tell me what color the car was painted if it was special order? The body on the car has been painted and modified a little but on the trunk under the spare tire instruction sticker it was black and black wasn't a color option in 73.
