Sorry Guys...

well, i hate peta as much as the next guy...but i don't get the desire to shoot doves. does anyone actually hunt doves to eat them? or to use them for anything useful? i'm a hunter, but i don't get the dove thing.

Yes people eat them. Who am I to tell people they can't hunt dove, if they eat them, ya know?
 
to eat i understand...but it doesn't seem like dove would be a very good meal...plus from what i understood, it's more target practice than it is to eat.

nah. i read the papers for things like that. seems that between the news and free press you get a pretty good all around view.

i caught one once when i was young. didn't know what the hell it was. saw it on the side of the dock. i just let it go. wish i woulda kept it.
 
I'm a hunter and I don't hunt doves but why can't I if that's something I wanted to do?? My whole problem with them telling me I can't hunt doves is what are they going to tell me I can't hunt tomorrow?? Deer, ducks, rabbits ect. The bird has a terrible survival rate anyway....what a joke! :pow:

I am voting AGAINST dove hunting. I love doves. They are so gentle and make the sweetest cooing sounds. I love to wake up to their singing in the summer.​

My dad asked why I would want to shoot a defenseless dove.

Because I'm against just throwing more and more money at schools without asking for any accountability. Not one dime of that money was earmarked for the kids. All of that money would be gobbled up my bloated pensions and health care and useless middle management types.

Plus, where is the fairness in these revenue set-asides? Where do you draw the line? Will we have a prop next season to safeguard all cops and firefighters? Where's my guarantee that I'll get an inflation raise? Give me a break. I went years without getting a COLA.

Fuck it. Drive down into Ohio and bring back a bucket o' dove. They are good eating, like lobster.
 
If I ever had a true last meal, I would slaughter a cow myself, and eat it in front of a PETA meeting.

:dontknow: Why can we kill and eat quail if not doves? And Mourning doves are like Pigeons. They shit up the place something terrible.
