Small engine carb help

I took my carb apart over a week ago and the kit came in today. Now that I'm thinking about it, I can't recall what way the diaphram went in. Does the metal disc side to up towards the body or down towards the bottom cover?

There are no markings at all on the carb. I got the rebuild kit yesterday and it is right but we ordered the kit off the make/model of the chainsaw and had no pictures. Generally, what direction do they face? The worst that could happen is I get it upside down but I'd rather not tear it back apart.
