ok ive sold a couple of my cars off..and i need another daily driver truck..and this time around id wanna try something with alil luxury instead of supercharged like my silverad SS...soooo i think ive narrowed it down for about 30k to 32k i can get a 08 sierra denali..with 30 to 40k miles..or for the same money i can get a 08 escalade ext with 40 to 50k miles...incase i end up not being happy with the 403hp..there a great platform for some furture fun..:smokin: so just curious what you guys think..if i can find a deal il probly buy something this week just trying to narrow it down.

only major differance ive noticed so far is the towing cap..the denali is 9600lbs and the ext is only 7600 i think...being a air shock instead of the leaf spring..altho some guys say they still tow very nice.

i towed my 5400lbs silverado SS on a 24ft open trailer ( thats pretty heavy) with a 2010 normal escalade it it towed extreamly well i thought..guess il have to see what the cap is from the escalade to the escalade ext..

my only other consern is the looks factor..you see a younger guy in a caddy and you think punk..you see a younger guy in a denali you may still think punk..but probly a harder working blue collar punk..lol being a General Manager of a family business i have to take that in to account

No question in my mind - I would go with the EXT for the suspension differences alone. Drive an Avalanche/EXT for a couple weeks, then test drive a Silverado... there's no comparison.

Escalade all the way. the denali is nice also but for the same money why not get the caddy. I'm sure the escalade probably has a few options the sierra does not, HID lights being one of them.

I am in this same boat for next year, I was even considering an 2007 Range Rover, I test drove an Escalade today and was very impressed its just the perception of the escalade has changed so much, its like if you drive one your either a dope dealer or someone who put the truck in there grandma's name. I was also even considering a new ram due to you can get a new ram for about 45k but after all the rebates and new car interest rates pay about the same we would on a used denali/escalade. I have an 05 Yukon Denali now and I towed my car with the air suspension and I thought it did pretty well.

You know my opinion. You use your vehicles as a work horse - I say Denali for the leaf spring rear and higher tow capacity...

I havent driven the Denali but I can tell you the 07+ Escalade is boss. The optional factory 22s, Nav, Camera, and Entertainment are highly recommended. I could care less what people think of me :) I would skip the power running board since you see salt there. They tow very well, higher than they are rated.

Why get a GMC when you can have a Cadillac? ;)

I hope they make a EXT in the new platform but rumor is they are not.

Payso Range Rover = Junk. They are sharp looking but even the supercharged version barely hangs with th 6.2 Escalade. I was looking at one for the wife but think I'll get a Q56 or another Escalade.

HAHA Nice! I am so worried to buy an 07+ I feel a newer model is right around the corner and every time Cadillac makes a new model it DESTROYS the model before it.

We have a multitude of work vehicles, and that includes my 2009 Yukon, which has every friggen option I think you can get, just doesn't have the Denali badges. My boss has a 2010 Escalade. Aside from the higher HP, I can't say as I notice the ride difference that much, and I honestly like the GMC looks better. Mine only has the 5.3, and it's pulled quite a bit with no problems.
Myself and a couple others even joked that the only thing the higher priced Escalade got was a quieter ride, but yes, I'm sure there's a lot of things I don't know or care that are better.

well i pulled the trigger on a black on black denali..nav..sunroof..heated steering wheel etc..everything but rear entertainment..its an 08..i was shooting for a 10 because they had the air con seats in 2010 for the aint monkey but days..lol i had a trade worked out for my silverado ss and some money for a guys 2010 but he changed his mind..and another one i called on and they sold it before i got there..soo must be a sign..soo after calling on about 10 other trucks and no one was willing to make a deal..i found one with alil more miles then i was hoping for..but after loosing one truck after another...i shot them a low ball offer of 29,000 and they accepted it..soo i saved my self about 3k...sooo now its time to get the long travel sand rail done..and get the ol 69 camaro finished off and nitrous hooked up :893goof_v soooo a fair trade off when i looked at the big picture :)

personaly i was realllly wanting a caddy..but being its a business write off for the depresation..in 2 years or so il have to get somethin else..soo if i dont love the denali i might give the caddy a shot then..

the other main reason..being the boss and going threw struggling times..i just think it would look bad to the "guys" if were tryin to cut cost..and i roll up in a caddy even tho its the same price as denali..and half the guys have newer diesels that were 10k more..its still the perseption of things i guess

only down side is..now i gotta figure out how im gonna get out to Bloomington, minnesota to get the damn thing..lol

PICS!!

well...heres the truck last week off the internet...site unseen..and had it shiped to me...long story short ive been alil nervous..but i think i got a hell of a deal...anyways after sweating my ass off ..it was delivered to me today and i feel like a giddy school girl..lol ofcouse i found a few flaws..nothin huge..a small chip in the windshield..a lil chip on the front bumper and a lil knick in the back seat leather..but thats it so far...but the truck over all seems extreamly clean ..smells like new..come to find out the owner had custom wheels and kept them..so they put a set of brand new denali wheels on it..so thats a plus...has a roll up cover on the bed which i havent played with yet to see if i like it..with a rhino liner which i thought it was a snap in ...also didnt know it had a corsa exaust which is great!! light tinted windows..and might have a highlight upgrade they seemed to have alil blue in them..not sure what they are yet tho..

only a couple things that bug me..the nav doesnt have the dvd so im guessing il have to buy one..il see if i can get the dealer to give me one...im guessing they will...being an 2008 do i have to have a nav cd in it all the time? and cant use a cd at the same time? havent had a change to dig in to it yet..and the other thing that im pissed about is it doesnt have a backup camera which is my fault..i figured all denalis with nav had a back up camera.. but im assuming i can add one in to the factory nav pretty easy...hopefully its prewired for it ...but all in all im extreamly happy with the truck i got a smoking deal on it..it drives like a dream..way smoother ride and more power then i was expecting!!...soo now i just gotta figure out what im gonna start with for mods being a totaly different platform then the silverado ss im used to.

Great looking truck.

I am REALLY digging those new 2500HD Denalis with a Duramax. Just a little(a lot) out of my price range!
