Sheared Off Bleeder Screw - Any Machine Shop Recommendations (Royal Oak or Canton area)

Guys - I have an ATV front brake caliper with a bleeder screw that's broken off flush and I need it out. Does anyone know of machine shop that would be willing to tackle such a small job and you'd trust? It's a $200 caliper new, so if I can save it by spending $20-30 on a shop, I'd be happy.

I'm not sure if an Easy Out and some heat will work or not -- would rather just let a shop that already has the tools give it a try.

Yea, this a Polaris Sportsman 500 too. I was debating about trying this myself... I just know how that goes most of the time!

Do you recall what size and brand Easy Out you went with? I'd have to go buy one/set.

Just ordered a set of Irwin left handed drill bits and a multi-splined hex head extractor set. *fingers crossed*

Be careful heating the caliper if the brake hose is still attached. You can try a hammer and center punch to work it out maybe. Or an easy out/extractor. Sears sell the small ones. I've used them to remove broken grease fittings.

Thanks for the tips.

If your around Livonia I should be able to get it out at work

Sweet. Let me give it a go this weekend with the left handed drill bit and extractor, and if it's still being a PITA, I may give you a shout next week.

Is Kroil penetrating oil worth the $ and is it as good as it's online reputation seems to be, or is PB Blaster just as good? I think I'm going to soak that bastard bleeder screw for a couple days before operating. Does any major chain store carry it in stock? I can order online, but I need it this weekend.

I also have kroil at work I. Livonia. I work at Mid-5 Auto Value. 5-mile and middlebelt, we use kroil there. Shits best I've used, well worth it. I thinks it's like $19 a can

X2 on kroil! That's all we used where I went to college.
