It probably uses a similar system Lamborghini used to. Pre-E-gear cars had an option for automatic while being a 6speed manual car.

could be the new VW trans. Ridings was telling me their new trans is a fully auto manual box. it's a manual trans with all the linkage ran on servos/electronically shifted. could be something along those lines?

No no no. It's a paddle shifter with a "JOY" stick. That audi was built with the female traveler in mind.

The paddle shifters, so she doesn't have to move her shoulder to shift because her phone will fall. And the stick was put back in because they figured during her lunch break, she might need a quickie. And what better way to disguise the tool of the trade!

Edit, I think its a clutch mounted to the back of a tourque converter. I'll find some stuff.

Well considering that the gallardo has both a manual & dual clutch F1 gearbox. I would assume that this is an R8 manual with a dual clutch steering wheel.

Gotta be an S5 clone. So it's more than likely an A5 with an S5 wheel(though there should be an S-line or S5 emblem on the bottom of the wheel on the middle spoke). Problem is with that wheel, there's decent size holes where the flabby paddles go. So it's either skip em and have the holes or finish it off with the paddles.
