Well as some of you know I bought a nice 408 R block shortblock. I just got my heads. They are Canfields ported from Fox Lake. I need a cam and intake. I am going to use a carb so I will need that too.

I also have a new Zex plate system good from 100 to 300hp. Going in a coupe that weighs 2600-2700 pounds. Running a c-4 with a brake, 373 gears.

My 408 I ran last year was 10-1, afr 205, vic jr. trick flow stage 3 cam, c-4, 373 gears, drag raidels. Ran 10.30 at 2700 pounds. Never any NOS.

I want to go faster with this motor. I want 10.0 or fast N/A. Do I need to use a soild roller and a super victor? I want to order this stuff soon. Any help would be great.

super vic def.. my buddy just did a vic junior wasp on his car to a super vic right before the end of the season..

cars a 411 stock block with victor heads 11.5 to one car went 10.48 best and with a change to a super vic and a elec water pump it went 10.0 with similar 60'

With the heads it come out to be 12.2 to 1 comp. Not sure on what size cam to go with. Comp cams have some nice cams.

ok for the price heres my opinon... for 400 bucks jay allen will grind you a custom solid roller out or billet to match your combo.. most off the shelf roller cams are in that price range anyways.. so why not get one that will optimise the combo to its best possible?
