running rich

ok so I have a stock 89 muatang gt and its running way too rich you can smell gas in the car and it seems to be using way to much by looking at the gas gauge.so my question is what should I check?

first i would give it a scan and see if there are any trouble codes.

Googel it, you need a light, or analog VOM. Also check fuel pressure, and if regulator went bad.
