Ross-Tech or VAG-COM?

Having a hard time conducting the TB adaptation and everywhere I look says it isn't required for 99 and older VW/Audi vehicles. Installed a new non reman TB and it's just not taking the relearn procedures and would like to try using Ross or V-Com if anyone happens to have any of those two locally to Mt Clemens?
 
One of customers works specifically on german vehicles and are the best in the area. I asked the same questions and they told me to buy Ross-Tech. I just got it and haven't had a chance to use it yet though.
 
If it were usable on more than just german vehicles, I'd pick it up. Is there a device that can do that and cover down on many other vehicles for diagnostics while not requiring a renewal/subscription every year or so ( there way of licensing software aka money grabbing ) ?
 
you can grab a older versus from snap on with euro pretty cheap, that will cover to 2012-2013 cars, Ill check if mine will do euro trash stuff if it will you can borrow it to get the VW out of your life

The ross tech allows you to do things all of the snap on and comparable scanners won't be able to do.

If I am reading that right, it'll scan, read, clear, and show live data like SNAP-On but also do German diagnostics as well?

You happen to have any leads on one? If it doesnt require registration updating and can function offline for indefinite should I never connect it to the interwebz and it's capable of what Darko is saying and them some, I may just pick one up.
 
I used to have an eBay cable with an older version of VAG COM for my B5, it worked okay. Not sure about the TBA specifically, for some reason I thought on the B5 you could do it without it.
 
I acquired an Ethos to try out tomorrow. If it's not successful I'll take ya up on the offer MP.

I thought the very same thing. Unfortunately its not working out like that.
