On a side note, I've used Ice and water shiled in MANY cars in replacement of dynamat. Works great at absorbing vibration.

Now that you mention it, the ice/water shield seems to be very much like Dynamat, and I can easily see how this can be used as a low cost substitute. I'm modifying my thread title to incorporate this idea. Thanx wikdsvt. +1 to you.
