River Tubing

Huron River is pretty decent out here in Washtenaw/Livingston county. I've canoed and tubed it, left from Dexter and ended up down river in Ann Arbor.

It'll be white water with this rain! Some of the smaller creeks are probably fun too after a storm. Leeches rule!!!

I used to do the Muskegon River on the west side all the time right below one of the dams (can't remmeber which one but right outside of Newaygo). Last time I went, though, zebra mussels had covered all the rocks and gave me a popped tube and stitches. Not fun!

Thanks for all the input!! I prefer heading north for kayaking/canoeing/tubing, but my roommate wants to tube for her bday and not venture too far from Novi. So, here's to hoping the water isn't too disgusting!!

Huron is pretty clean. I waded it earlier this year to fly fish. It's a little deep and fast this year with all the rain though.

Where did you go? From what I can tell by Kensington Park, Proud Lake Rec & such is the best? Deep & fast is fine, lol.

I camped at Proud Lake 2 yrs ago and want canoeing. It was nice, but far from deep and fast.
