Ripped off by Iron MIke MEtal in Troy

Just an FYI for anyone thinking of scrapping some metal...don't do it with these guys. I scrapped about some tool steel over a month and a half ago. After calling everyday for the past month and a half they never returned a single call. Every now and then I get a hold of someone and they say they are going to send a check out.

Yep, that is what happened. It was a large amount so we had them pick it up on site.

This is standard operating for large scrap companies, they collect tons of scrap and promise to send checks out, the sell the scrap and close up file suit NOW when the declare BK first in line usually gets paid

steel companies are the worst, Everything is paid on 30 days so they fill up and buy as much as then can, sell/process it all, then file bankruptcy....its downright criminal and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from people

we had 4 scrap bins full when we were shutting down the plant, the scrap company had closed down then came to get the bins from us I DEMANDED cash on the spot, ended up selling bins and scrap to another company

The best yard I have found is H&H metals on Michigan and inkster. Rick and his guys are top notch. They are not close to me but I know they have never screwed me.

I always tell the story about me in a city yard and a certain poltician (cough mary waters cough) came in and thru the cash out window I saw her recieve a nice letter of recommendation or envlope full of cash, dont know which it was
