Remember when 20s were huge?

It's amazing how small (or normal) those wheels look. Cars must have gotten HUGE in the last 10 or so years! I remember when 20s were gigantic...now they're pretty much standard equipment on a lot of regular cars.

Crazy

yeah, it's funny how trends find their way into the OEM market. I remember when the Dodge Rams first came out with "factory 20's" and every one was like "NNNNOOOOOOO WAY!" It does seem that cars have larger wheel openings/radius' these days to accomidate such large wheel/tire combos

Ford was known for falling short in the wheel department. The F-150's still don't have 20's unless you get an FX4 or Lariat.

I remember that. I was one of the people that were like "NOOOO WAYYYY!!!" My friend Lauren got 20's for her Ford Explorer and everyone thought she was the shit. haha. Those were the good days. If you had 20's and a few sub woofers in the trunk, you were the mother fucking man!

I remember when the first 20's were hitting the market and thinking "WTF? Why would anyone need or want those??"
Now with cars like the ZR1 you pretty much need massive wheels to fit the brakes

4 lug Mustangs all the way up to '93 :jawdrop2:

Yea, and not to depend having a 4 lug on a 'Stang, but we all know every car has it's "cheapened" parts. Some worse or more noticeable than others, but working very closely to many aspects of many vehicles, I get to see the good, bad, and ugly of each car I work on.

Chrysler really pushed the trend over the top when Gilles penned the LX cars to look wrong with anything under 20s. It got them a lot of love in rap videos

I'd like to put 17s on my Ram, but they'd look freaking tiny

Those wheels are ugly, but that car looks pretty damn good

Sorry to see the continued use of fake scoops, Camaro included.

1995 I put 17s on a grand am and they were huge
lol, same here. In 99 I put a set of 17" Enkeis on my Cadillac STS and everyone was saying how it looked sweet with big wheels on it. I also remember when I was a freshman in the dorms up at MSU and Marcus Taylor thought he was goin pro basketball. He went out and bought an escalade and put a set of 22's on it. they were even that goofy 5 spoke split style you can get now for $200 a wheel. Everyone in the dorm looked at that thing like it was a spaceship or something. I remember walking up close and staring at em for like 10 minutes couldnt believe my eyes

83 z28 in 1989 ,t-tops and mullet?
T-tops are mandatory, mullets are sweet. I wish I smoked so I could have rolled up a pack in the sleeve of my t-shirt. I had to roll with a wife beater instead:(

I had 15" 60 spoke chrome and gold LA Wires on my 95 Grand Am GT. Hunter green with a gold stripe and window tint in 1998. They weren't huge but they stuck out and eveyrbody in high school loved my car. I ended up selling them to some kid in a white Beretta. They looked HORRIBLE on his car.

I'll have to dig up those pics.

That is the most awesome picture I've ever seen.
