...for those brave men who fought and died. Gives me chills to think of the airborne grunts before me that would be landing in Europe in the next few hours in 1944.

I hope you all have a great Wednesday, but be sure to stop for a second and remember those that gave their life on this day so many years ago.

Airborne!

I've been to Omaha beach and there isn't anything like still seeing the damage in the land and the cemetery with white crosses as far as you can see. It's something else to actually see what you've only read about or seen in pictures.

Brings me to tears.

RIP to all who were involved, regardless of the side. American, British, German, South African, Australian, New Zealander, French, Belgian, Canadian, Ukrainian, Polish and anybody else that participated. Because of this very day, and the actions of all of these brave men, a great tyranny was removed from the land and freedom reigned once again.

Too many people forget our history, and that's an absolute shame.

GOD BLESS AMERICA and our brave sons that fought, died, and/or were maimed in this terrible struggle.

When you have time and if you haven't already, movies to watch are...Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan The Longest Day and Ike. All heavily emphasize D-Day.

Also I have read the book, "Beyond Band of Brothers" Good Stuff.

IMHO I think a show like Band of Brothers should be required watching in High school, perhaps a reading of the book first, just to maybe relate some of the material and respect that the guys living through that deserve some respect. again just my HOd-day-920-25.jpg
