due to a brake problem on my car I did my HPDE 2->3 check ride in the the old AI car :)

Still boiling the fluid on the rear?

Nope, front's now. But what sent me off track was getting too close to the backing plate. Car was stopping, just not at the rate it should have.

When I hit the brakes I knew instantly we were not going to make the corner, I told Carlyle (very calmly) "we are going off" he said (just as calmly) "ok" I put the wheel straight and once we got in the gravel I got back in the power so we wouldn't get stuck.

So, what you're saying is, with your ratio of on-track to off track time, you should have bought a Raptor instead?

bah, i was in the gravel for 45-50 seconds and on track for 2+ hours. Your an engineer you do the math :p sucka

when you coming by the shop damnit!
 
UPDATE: the car is finished and at Grattan Raceway as we speak testing with the Ford Racing guys:
Finished pictures very soon as well as pictures of the car in the Ford Racing Display at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

I love how Jesse ends up in so many of the pics, lol, he's the one that gets all the real work done around the shop...
