Recovering files off digital camcorder

I have a digital camcorder (Panasonic HDC-HS700) that started flaking out lately. I keep getting a "HD read error" when I try to record on it. I tried to pull the files that are on there off...I managed to get a few last night, but the hard drive seems to be crapping out in it as the computer keeps telling me to insert a disk, even when the camcorder shows up as a drive.

Anyone know of a reputable company that may be able to recover these files off of it? It's a bummer that the camcorder seems to be crapping out, but I can live with that. I just really want to get the files off it if at all possible.

It looks to have hard drive based storage. Here is my 2 cents. Does it have external batteries? If it does put the unit in the freezer for a few hours. It will get the temperature low enough to use the drive. Just remember you only have a few minutes of use until the drive gets warm. Also take not of condensation as the cold surfaces will attract moisture which will ruin it. Good luck. You could always take it apart and try to hook the drive up to a computer. The HS is hard drive based according to my 2 seconds of research.
