Recommendations for 03 Cobra Exhaust

I have a bone stock 03 Cobra and im trying to find some recommendations for exhaust, specifically mid pipe. I have pretty much settled on the Borla Stinger cat back unless someone else has any other inputs.

What x or h pipe do you guys recommend? I know there are a lot of Ford guys on here or guys with Cobras. I would prefer stainless steel and an offroad pipe. No idea on what brand or x or h style

Thanks!

Just depends on what sound you like/want. X will be louder with more pop and an H will be deeper. I run a Prochamber which is the quietest of them all since it is basically a 3rd muffler.

I just wish they made the prochamber in stainless.

Seems like a lot of people either go for the bassani X or the prochamber

My buddy has long tubes, h pipe and dumped borlas on his. Fucking thing screams.

They used to make it stainless (if you can find one used). Mine is just coated and doesn't have a spot of rust on it (8 years old).

My main input is go with an H pipe!! I know everyone had a hard-on these days over X pipes, but I feel the H sounds SOO much better!! Deeper like you want a V-8 to sound. I believe on my termi I had a catted H pipe (forget brand its been years) and it sounded mean!

thanks. seems like everyone has their own opinions on it and I should be ok just as I shy away from offbrands. im after the highest quality i can find

I had Borla Stingers and didn't love it, really obnoxious sound and raspy. My personal favorite was the MAC system, deep rumble and screemed at WOT

On my '03 Cobra I had a catted MagnaFlow H-Pipe and MagnaFlow cat back, all stainless, very good quality product, deep sound but the drone was horrible. If you plan on driving on the freeway at all don't get MagnaFlow mufflers. I think the mufflers could easily be changed on a MagnaFlow system.

Keep in mind if you plan on changing the IRS to a Solid Axle. The Cobra exhaust won't work with a solid axle. Cobra exhaust runs under the rear IRS, Mustang exhaust runs over the solid axle.

Exhaust sound preference is such a subjective matter, go with whatever your ears like the best IMHO.

I drink the Magnaflow Kool-Aid and I'll eventually be selling my Magnaflow O/R X-pipe and Magnaflow catback from my 2001 Cobra in case you're interested OP (it's still on the car, gotta get around to removing it this season before I sell the car). Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

My favorite exhaust ever on a cobra was my buddy sal's '04 mystic. We did kooks long tubes then had diamond make a x-pipe, then a Mac Pro chamber with flowmasters.. The dual crossover got rid of any of that god awful frap and the flow master gave it a "muscle car" tone. I also like exhaust resonators. We did the same exhaust to a Mach 1

Personally I HATE the straight through borla/corsa crap. If you want your cobra to sound like a red neck built 70's Chevy truck with straight pipes and cherry bombs and honestly think the car sounds good. You should sell the cobra and buy a 70's pick up truck lol

In your case with a basically stock car bbk makes a nice x with high flow cats that fits awesome and sounds great too.

So I ended up with a stainless steel mac prochamber offroad mid pipe and a stainless steel borla stinger system.

Planning on polishing up the entire exhaust and then going to put it on!
