Reccomendation for electrical issue

My 95 Cobra is doing something weird when on the dyno. Its cutting out/missing at various RPM's mostly above 4k.

I am replacing the ignition box/coil to see if this helps, and will also do a visual inspection of the grounds, but thats about the extent that I can do.

All my contacts for electrical gremlin issues are booked for the next couple weeks at least so I wanted to see if anyone out there has experience trouble-shooting electrical issues or knows of a good shop/person to do this?

Its a Crane HI-6 box, Crane Coil, and Crane Firewire plug wires. I kinda doubt its the box/coil/plugs, as they are only a couple years old and only have ~ 2k worth of miles on them.

I am thinking it is a ground issue, and I can do a visual inspection, but I dont have the knowledge or tools to diagnose if a ground is the issue.

I havent actually seen it in person, as its at the tuner right now. From what I've been told it cuts out around 4k-4800 rpm and then sometimes has a real hard time firing over once its turned off.

I will be probably picking it up this week to try to get it diagnosed.

Its not just a miss either, the car acts like it wants to turn off when it starts to miss and the rpms go down significantly.

Thats sounds like a low voltage on the primary side of the circut issue. Looses spark then loads up. It could be a coil with a weak secondary winding or a degraded secondary winding.

anyone check the alternator.

Brand new, zero miles so I guess that COULD be the issue, but highly doubtful.

I really hope thats the issue. I have a spare coil thats a couple yrs old, but I'll probably just buy a new one and test it out, and after that a new ignition box.

whats the condition of the TFI ? I will share this with you. When you have TFI ignition problems be ready to yank some hair.

Only other though I have is either Vavle lash and pushrod adjustments or tune up issues. Is the AF making any hard turns prior to the breaking up issue ?
