shouldn't be too hard, a good set of forged internals, a nice used intake and a good nitrous cam should get you close. as long as your trans and rear end are right. I would sell the 302 and find a nice Windsor and build that, probably come in around the same cost with a much nicer foundationLooking to rebuild my 302 who and where looking to go 11.5-11.8 on a 150 shot and still be safe and able to drive on the street. Suggestion or help on doing so. Looking to spend no more then $2,000 can it be done.
Buy a set of heads/intake and a cam for less than 2 grand and u will go alot faster then 11.50s.
I might be willing to sell you my forged 331 shortblock if you're interested. Its a low compression pump gas motor that runs 11.50's-60's on motor. If you have a decent set of heads it will go reliable 11's on motor all day long on pump gas. Just thought i'd put it out there....
I'm still not 100% sure if I wanna sell it just yet but we might be able to negotiate something.
EASY....focus your attention on weight, and suspension. As stated build a stout motor with decent parts, and PULL weight. Budget for a good suspension, so you can leave hard and straight. 11's all day long.
unless you plan on changing the converter your probably better off building a motor car. I could be wrong but I always thought nitrous liked a tight converter.
That 750 is about perfect for a 351w Honestly I'd find a decent 351w pick up one of the sets of aluminum heads in the for sale section. More then a few in there and the car should go 11.50's all day long.
This setup would cost next to nothing and is a 11.00 setup...
Stock long block,
F cam
Vic. Jr intake
1.6 RR's
GT40P heads (untouched)
750 Holley
On a 150 shot it went 11.03 @ 121mph.... 60' was 1.41 C4 w/ T-brake
