the rear rotors on my 03 mountaineer need replacing and just looking at it there's a large nut in the middle that is threaded to the axle and my question is,does it need to be removed to remove the rotor? if so what size is the nut?
They are hubless so they slide right off. That large nut is for the hub bearing that does not need to come out. Those have a park brake that has shoes on the back inside of the rotor so it may be tough to remove the rotor.
