Question on totaled vehicle title

Thought someone here may have experience...I just tried to both renew my plate and request a duplicate title online, and it won't let me do the title online. I don't know if it's due to the plate renewal being pending or something else.

My situation/question is this:

Under my ownership, the vehicle was totaled back in 2018. It was all superficial damage so I purchased it back, and as such retained the title I originally received. My insurance company were idiots though, and requested I endorse the title and send to them, which I did. I assumed it was basically to force a salvage title be issued to me. They mailed that exact endorsed title back to me, and said "oops, we didn't need that".

I am now planning to sell the vehicle in the next month or two. I will fully disclose that it was salvaged as I am not trying to screw anyone (this is a cheap-ass 2003 Yukon, we're not talking some newer/high dollar vehicle), but I want to get a duplicate title since the thing was endorsed by me almost 6 years ago now. I feel trying to mark up the current title and sell to someone else will seem shady - I'd be nervous as the buyer in that situation. Question is - Will the duplicate title I receive now be green, or orange?

My guess is, it will be green. No need to explain anything other
than "I need a duplicate title" to the SOS. Thus, it should come
back as a title just like yours with the word "duplicate title" printed
on it.

Some people will have as much of an issue with that title as a
"salvage title".

I've sold both, simply explain what happened, what was repaired
and the fact that you owned it all this time & the repairs are 6 years
old. As you stated, it will be a cheap SUV, shouldn't be a problem
either way.

Cool, thanks - yup, agreed that I don't see it impacting the value much. I also have pics of the damage and it's completely apparent that it's all superficial.

I've had some friends of mine buy vehicles at auction with salvage titles. They had to submit paperwork to the state and receipts for the parts replaced & labor preformed (minor front end collision) and have the vehicle inspected by a licensed repair facility with their facility # on the application & the Mechanic's licence #.
