I am going to freshen my AOD and while I'm in there it was recommended to upgrade the sprag to a mechanical diode. I have a few questions.
1.) Will a Mechanical Diode out of 4R70W work?
2.) I heard a need a new drum, but what if I already have the stamped steel drum?
3.) Isn't there a sprag for both Reverse and Direct Drive? If so which one do I need, I'm assuming I need the intermediate diode and not the reverse.
Please help.
3.) What else will I need to complete the conversion.
A conversion kit if offered by a few companies, but its like $300, and my thought is if this is just parts from an AODe or 4R70W that I just need to simply install then I can get those parts for less than $100 used.
