Project "1 bad Azz LX"

Been racing for a long time now. Took a break to start a family and stuff like that. Some of you older guys will remember my red 1988 Mustang GT with all the Edelbrock stuff on it. The plate holder said " All Throttle no Bottle"

My 14 year old son Wesley wanted to start racing so here I am years later with that fire in my gut again!

80% of the parts on this project came from the guys on this site. Big thanks to 82hatch for a lot of the hard to find small parts and John Quick for the great deal on them doors!!

Here are some pictures of the new 1987 mustang LX.

Lol that's cool a lot of kids just don't like to work on cars nowadays cause it's "to hard" or "to dirty". Always cool when a father and son share a great hobby. Keep the pics coming

very cool, that's an impressive looking motor for the time period.
We were told we placed the first order for those heads in the Midwest! Two weeks later we were the first in the country to order new valves for those heads!!! Tried to retard the cam by moving the whole crank. It was ugly LOL

I learned by making a lot of mistakes early on and by being so broke back then!!

and to think in 91 that car wasnt that old......and the motor is out and you used it to street race....awesome

and drove it to work everyday! That car won a lot of races back in the day. Now I get to watch my son do it...

Here is a pic from "Old Detroit Dragway" Them new Edelbrocks was the shit!

I think it's completely awesome to see the racing gene passed to a new generation. I have a 15 year old stepson who's earning a driver's license cleaning parts on OUR project car! It's nowhere near the car yours will be, but it's will get him just as dirty and be just as memorable for us both. Congrats!!
