primeing oil pump

Gearotor pumps prime pretty fast , unlike a gear to gear pump .

agreed

if the engine is apart, put some grease in it so it pulls oil right at start up, if the engine is together, crank it with the starter with either fuel or spark disabled if you are worried, personally, I just fire them up, shoul;d have oil pressure pretty much immediately, if the filter is dry, will take a split second longer

had to take it all back apart and pour a qt of oil down the pick up tube . only way i could get it to work . when i first fired it up i had 30 lbs .now after putting it all back toghter its only at 10 lbs some times 5lbs . if i give it gas it will go up some . i dont know whats going on . its my work van and need this thing working . dont know what to do now. the motor has alot of miles.does anyone know how much a low mile motor would be and a good place to buy from . looks like its going to be hell trying to pull the motor out of a van

there was no oil pressure it was at o wouldnt move at all . over the last 6 months i have been having the pressure go from 40 when first starting to 20-15 when warm. i used the green ring on the pick up tube .witch was the big one of the 3 . dont know what you mean by is the relief stuck

theres over 200,000 on the van theres more then 1 thing going on .just cant pay to rebuild a motor in the slow season right after x mas . im sure with me doing the work its not helping ...lol i am a ford guy this chevy is killing me
