ok i feel dumb asking this but i need to know what to do. so i have a NOS big shot plate kit that im putting under my 2'' carb adapter. my question is since im going to be porting and matching both the adapter and the intake to make a smooth transition what do i do with my nitrous plate since its sandwiched between the intake and the adapter that will throw the port matching thing right out the window. my question is can i mount it between the adapter and somewhat port the nitrous plate im sure it wont be much i havent even really looked to see maybe the plate opening is bigger that the intake opening idk please someone some input. thanks

I would use a plate kit that matches the carb and put it right under the carb.

More details! Is this a Dominator going on a 4150 intake or the other way around?

More info? THe plate should be at the bottom, i haven't really seen a need to open the carbmounting pad bigger than a nitrous plate? That wide open hole will flow well over 1500CFM so opening the pad up much more than just making the transition better, and maybe adding a little plenum volume isn'tr going to do much? As far as gringding on the plate, you can do that no problem, just stay away from where the spray bars mount, the rest is just an aluminum plate that can be ground,/machined/whatever.

its a pro systems sv1 one big butter fly so my nitrous plate has to be on the bottom for the butterfly to clear the spray bar. and i went with the 4500 flange mounting because i wanted that nice nice tapered transition not just one size. because the sv1 has dual bolt patterns 4150 and 4500.

and i havent really paid much attention to the size of the plate i was hoping its bigger then the inlet so i didnt have to grind on it but lets say i do match the intake inlet with the carb adapter and open them both up to match then stick the plate between will that mess it all up if the nitrous plate is bigger or will it still flow ok over that ledge? or do i just match the intake with the nitrous plate?

So the intake is a 4500 flange, or 4150? I would stack it all up and see what it looks like. My guess is you won't have to touch much if anything. Maybe just round some edges. I would contact cboggs on Yellow bullet. He may have a much more scientific answer to your question. Or even Uratcho, he has a tech section on YB. So does Jim Munson....pick your poison!..lol But i think CBoggs is doing alot of work with Uratcho now.

alright thanks guys im gonna have to pull the intake off and just look and see what im working with. thank you very much for your help guys much appreciated.
