How much will cnc ported heads be worth on a SOHC 4.6 blower car? Is it worth the money? I just have the stock p.i. heads now. The car currently makes 516rwhp should this get me close to the 550 range?

Ported heads certianly don't hurt. If I was in the market for 2 valve heads however I'd be looking at trickflow as cast or cnc ported units. They have a ton of improvement over stock heads and appear to outflow even port factory heads with as casdt ports.

Thanks, but it feels slow after driving it all summer.

Hard to say how much you would pickup. Most likely boost would go down but the engine would gain rpm so it might be a net gain gain?? My gut tells me you TQ HP split would improve dramatically and you'd gain some rpm.

Yup, your "boost reading" will go down. Yet, you will gain power.

Exactly, the reason is boost is only a measure of pressure. Even though the numbers (boost) are lower you are allowing the engine to be more efficient by porting. I picked up 40 rwhp with a set of ported P.I heads in my old modular. I agree with everyone, TFS heads are the way to go.

I know of an out of the box set of TrickFlow 2v heads with stock cams on a 4.6 that went 9.04 at 153 last weekend. Procharger car

They work really well.

It was Tim Matherly at the MIR race 2V Procharged NMRA Real Street car. Here is a video link, it is the blueish purple car 2001 body. In this video he went 9.05 @ 151+. Now that is shifting some gears. Also check out the white coupe 310 and a drykit 9.11 @ 147!!!
