Please Help! Dakota 3.7 needed for mom

I need a 3.7 for my moms 2004 Dakota. She spun a rod bearing last night and doesn't have another car. She lives by herself and is battling cancer. She needs a way to get to her appointments and work each week and i live over an hour away from her. The cheapest I've found is $1000 and her nor I have that kind of spare money laying around. Any help is appreciated. Thank You!

I don't have an engine, but make a plan so she doesn't miss her treatments. If you can't drive her there must be someone local to her that will. It might cost a few bucks but she can't miss her treatments. It will take a while to find a cheap engine and install it.
 
She lives in Monroe. She has her brother close by but he's not always available. We are trying to get things planned until we can get her back on the road.
