Next is the 1986 GN. It was a two-owner car when I bought it in October of 2008. It had 41k original miles and was mildly modded mechanically (42# injectors, Kenne Bell ram air setup). The original owner took it to a Buick dealer in 1987 and had a partial GNX conversion done to the car. He had the dealer install GNX fender vents, fender flares & wheels. That was a big plus for me since I wanted to make an X inspired GN. Here is the car when I picked it up in 10/2008.
In January, 2009 it went under the knife. New paint, carpet, GNX dash with custom gauges from SpeedHut.com, wheels, 87 grille, and a long laundry list of other stuff was done. Also, since it isn't one of the real deal GNXs and I didn't want to pass it off as such but yet needed some kind of emblem on the car, I had custom badges made for it. They, too, are GNX inspired, but different from the real McCoy still.
Performance mods also HAD to be done and the current setup is as follows:
CK Performance Shift Kit on a stock transmission, RJC Racing 3" Down Pipe / Test Pipe, Up Pipe, 3" MAF Pipe, Power Plate, Boost Regulator, Accufab Fuel Pressure Regulator, Razor's Alky Kit on the stock turbo and intercooler running right at 22# of boost, TurboTweak Chip, 60# Mototron Injectors, Hot-Wired Fuel Pump, LS1 MAF & Translator, Pypes Cat-Back, BeCool Radiator setup & the ole K&N Air Filter.
The car has recently gotten a Baer big brake kit and a few other little cosmetic things. I will post some newer pics up later on. But for now, these are pics from a couple of months back...
