Picked up a new "project"

Picked her up about 2 weeks ago. I drove all the way to Cleveland with my buddy on a Friday night just to get her, but I got a killer deal I simply could not pass up:

She's a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. Used to be the dark grey color, but Mahoning County, Ohio repainted her black. However, the paint's peeling all over the place, and the last owner decided to spray-bomb the whole front-end flat black.

It's got the 4.6L V8, but I'm having some misfiring issues right now. I think it might be a bad coil or two... I will have to look into this later.

Overall it's a badass car and I love it. The spotlight is sweet, and on the way up from Ohio, I stopped at a Pilot and picked up a pretty good-sized antenna that I mounted on the trunk. Next up will be some tints, fixing the mechanical issues, and then I'm considering redoing the paint on it.

It will be a fun summer... this much I know...
 
i had one a 99 white one, bought it from conley autos sales in brighton. had 250k on the dash and drove like a dream, till some old bastard totaled it while it was parked.
 
Yeah, do any of you guys know of good mods that can be done to her?

It's already got a fresh tune-up, many synthetic fluids, and the 03+ intake on it... now I was looking into getting a better tune. I mean, it's alright as is, gets good gas mileage and all, but I'm sure some power can be freed up by a tune.

So who around here can tune it?

Pretty much. Once I get it repainted or fix some of the paint on it, and get tints on, it should be good to go.

Even as it sits, I notice when I pull it out of the garage, people slow down driving down my street, and on the drive back from Cleveland, people would slow down around me on the highway. Just DD-ing it, people at first slow down thinking it's a police vehicle, but when they realize it isn't, they fuck around with me and fly past me and shit. It's funny, but it happens way too often.

And Patty... I don't have any unfinished projects. I sold the F250.. and well, the Lexus is my DD and an ongoing effort, not so much just a fun project car.

I haven't done any power mods yet but I'd like to do a 2800 stall, 3.73, and a 75 shot. The stock Mufflers are supposed to be good but the whole system is like 2". Delete cats and a full 2.5 system with Borlas or Magnaflows would sound good.

Mis-fire is probably a coil or the springs in the coil boots. I grabbed 4 used coils and replaced 4 old ones just by looking at the spark plugs.(which were bad also)... Problem solved. Get it fixed asap. You're eating a lot of fuel driving with that misfire.
 
I think I'll hit ebay and find some coils.

I know my school's auto shop has a couple 4.6L Lincoln motors sitting around that each only have like 30k miles on them. I might be able to jack a couple coils off those if they're the same part.
