Agreed. IMO you need a 4" drop to get a noticable difference. Get a tint, slam it and call it done.

stock aluminum rim 33lbs, steel mt rim 26. 2 inch drop is from ford racing.

this is more of a fuel economy thing than astetics. I just want to make sure it doesnt look silly. the goal is to get rid of unsprung weight and a little aero mod.

The truck will be for long trips / yard work. not looking to set the custom world on its ear. Just a little better fuel milage than the as rated 13/17mpg.

Did you consider the max GAWR on those steel wheels? I would keep the stock wheels and pump the tire pressure to 45.
