ok some of you may think im retarded but im not a painter so deal with it. So i have some painting to do and cant match the paints exactly. One is seriously a shade too light. would applying multiple coats make it darker?
Unless it is a candy or translucent it probably will not darken with multiple coats. You can try and put a dark primer below it. I cannot gaurantee(sp?) that this will produce the results you are looking for. Just because a paint looks a certain color in the can doesn't mean that is what it will look like when applied and dried. You can also try buying some darker shades of the same type and brand of paint and try and darken it up yourself but i wouldn't really recommend this method for someone who doesn't have mixing experience.
You can start fresh and have a custom basecoat mixed to match the paint you need. A close place (to me anyhow) is GNE on John R in Hazel Park. Take some of what you want mached up there. I think they will even put it in a rattle can if need be. You can give me a call at work if you need better answers. i manage the body shop at Matthews-Hargreaves Chevrolet. 248-398-8800 ask for Ed.
no im pretty sure adding more paint will make it any darker then it is, if you need some paint mixed to make it the way you would like, go to an car quest they normally will do it for you and they are really cheap as well.
