overdrive problem?

i have a 350 turbo transmission and everytime i hit about 45 -50 mph it goes into overdrive and it keeps going in and out... so im trying to figure out why it keeps going in and out of overdrive? any answer would be appriciated..

you sure it's not the converter locking and unlocking?

yea its a 87 cutlass supreme... someone also said it could be the sensor too??

yeah, probably a 700R4, but being an Olds, I guess it might be a 2004R as well

Most likely what your feeling is the tcc apply. Attaching a older scan tool will tell you if its applying and releasing.

how sensitive is your brake light switch?

It's a 200-4r

If it's the original trans, it should be a OG coded 200-4r. The stock lock up solenoid in any 200-4r is JUNK (even if it's new oem). It could have a pressure switch problem as well (screwed into the valve body).

Does the speedo needle bounce at all?

yea the speedo does bounce a little bit but not too bad..
