Our LeMons car & fuel consumption

Looking for some insight on fuel consumption for our '88 T-bird. We'll be running a 15 gallon fuel cell for the race and therefore won't have a fuel guage to know when we're out. I put together a quick calculator based on a 4.5mpg consumption for raceday. This is on a carb'd, slightly bored 5.0L SBF (maybe 306~307c.i.). I'm not sure on carb size (probably 650 Holley). Anyone have any idea what kind of fuel consumption to expect out of it assuming we're tuning it to run a 12.5:1 AFR? I'd rather not wait 'til it starts sputtering in the corners...

Put 5gal in the tank, go to a G man test and tune, see how long it lasts

what kind of cell? a lot have adapter plates you can buy for stock type level senders. My fuel safe cell does. might be good insurance, dont need to run out of fuel. even if you were to get the estimate pretty close the weather on race day could even throw it off.

There's a 13~14% margin of error built into the spreadsheet (2 gallons). I figure if it's going to go empty, we'll notice in the corners when it starves itself for fuel (which is the other reason for the extra 2 gallons - to prevent starvation). Just trying to get a little better idea incase anyone knew...
