Alright guys, this event is in your backyard. 3 Balls Racing will be at Waterford Hills on Monday, June 11. The event is limited to 45 cars so we will have plenty of track time. Sessions will be 20 minutes. Cost is $160 and includes lunch and drinks.

What better way to spend a vacation day or sick day than at the track? We will have instructors available and an instruction session in the morning. Beginners are more than welcome. We will take care of you.

Let me know if you have questions. Otherwise, head over to 3ballsracing.com to sign up.

Thanks
Ken

Come on guys, it's time to stop talking about going to the track and actually do it.

We will have instructors for the beginners. Once you try this, you will be addicted. Drag racing and cruising are both fun, but the road course is a whole new animal.

Exactly why this car club has been going down the tubes. People step up and coordinate events and then no one shows up.

I like driving my car, front rotors are really expensive. Once i have a spare set on hand, I'll start coming to track days. I've broke a lot of rotors in my day, I don't really want to have a car sitting around I can't drive because of a broken rotor. Should be out in July based on the budget.

Are you referring to the CTS-V wagon? That's a sweet ride. I'm looking to swap the CTS-V brakes onto my G8.

Yeah. The front rotors are only available through GM. So they are pricey. I haven't found them for less than the $211 each or so that GM Parts Direct has them for. I've got all the diff cooler stuff, track wheels, tires on the wheels, DTCs. Then I went to get what i didn't think would be a big deal, the rotors, and found out that holy crap they're expensive. Just didn't budget correctly to start the season.

That was one of my big issues with the GTO. I think the best deal I found on them was $175 each. $50 rotors for the C5 are great.

There is a two piece rotor for my car as well, the problem with it is that the rotor ring isn't replacable, have to replace the whole thing, doesn't make those a cost effective option at all. And since the ZL1 and '13 V's come with the two piece, my rotor replacing situation will probably get more expensive before it gets cheaper. I should stock up on the duo-cast rotors before they obsolete them.

Rear rotors are the same as the SS. And those are cheap and easy to get. The front rotors on the Vs were only on the Vs. Now there Vs and ZL1s share the 2 piece and the duo-cast rotors that came on my car come on nothing (atleast nothing GM), which is why I see them possibly going away.

Most of the stuff is common to other things (i.e. not rare). And the brakes are the same on all the 09-12 Vs, not that those are still that common. It is more it has gigantic rotors and gigantic rotors are expensive. At least they aren't the ZR1 rotors. Not that big of a deal, I just neglected to look them up to start the season and couldn't work them into the budget right away once I found out how much they were.

Have you had any issues with the brakes, or are you just making sure you have reserves in case they crack?

These track days are a blast and I highly recommend them. I, unfortunately, have no car, no money and I'm out of time off for the year due to medical issues, expenses, etc. :(

Someday I will be back at it. If anyone that hasn't done it is thinking about it, go for it!

That actually sounds like a great price and I would definitely snap a set or two up to hang on to if I were you. I would also look at the ZL1 rotors as well, since those are probably the cheapest they will ever be from GM right now. You should see the cost for the two piece rotors for my wife's Mercedes, they want like $900 each!
