Pulled the rest of the engine down. Forgot how heavy the cast iron 4-speed was. Took that out after I got out of the gym-another dumb call on my part

All of the machined surfaces seem great. The rod bearings show a little wear but they are getting replaced anyway. The crank bearings are not doing great.

Also ordered some extra parts. Switched from Felpro to Cometic MLS had gaskets. Aluminum Edelbrock water pump, hi flow Tstat, Canton deep sump oil pan and pickup.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, it will run cool and I don't have anymore issues once it its back together.

As for the original issue, I do have another 2-peice fuel pump eccentric somewhere, just need to dig it up.

Figured I'd update.

Huge thanks to Drag-ula for installing cam bearings!

Got the engine together, fired up pretty easy (had the wife turning it over so she was very nervous)

-Got the timing dialed in
-No leaks
-Runs at a better operating temp with the new tstat and water pump
-Cooling fan doesn't need to run for 5 minutes after I shut the car down to cool below 179°
-Runs smoother than before

Did a bunch of small BS while I was at it.
-wheel bearing service
-brake cable adjustment
-4 speed trans service
-measure and plan my 8.8 swap (happening this winter)
- touch some floor and engine bay paint up as well as a cleaning while the engine was out.
