Would've been extremely nice to have 1/4 mile..... Some cars are just getting hot at the 1/8th !

I will let everyone know for sure what time, it may be 8:00 AM till 9:00 PM.........

I think 1/8th will STILL be fun... While 1/4 would be awesome, I don't think theres enough of a run off for some of the faster cars...

I'll probably be out next Saturday - just LMK.

tell me your jokin...how fast of a car do u need to be to have 4000 + feet?? not long anuf?? im pretty sure you could run..and coast to a stop by then..haha

i think theres plent of room..i think its just more of a safey issue to run the full 1/4 with no rails or anything..

im fine with 1/8 or 1/4..as long as its open ..thats gonna be HOME TRACK ! might have to set the car up for 1/8 and make a lil monster out of it now :)...gonna be hard to do now that i switch to a powerglide tho..shit..

I don't know about all that, I think shutdowns are usually between 1/2 and 3/4 mile. So the 1/2 mile would be on the low end of things, but will probably still be enough for 1/4 mile runs if everything else is in order.

I've stopped from over 200 mph plenty of times in less than 2700 feet. Unless you're running something really, really serious, you should be able to stop from the 1320 by 4000 with room to spare.

Yeah, but you are in a car with great brakes. Most hillbilly racers out there seem to forget that going fast is only 1/2 the job.

ya but most hill billy races ARNT goin 200mph..in the 1/4..and if they are im sure they got some brakes and a shoot

Top fuel cars ran at O.D. back in the days when they didn't have high end brakes or good chutes...

I have run MANY full 1/4 mile passes there way over 140 with no trouble (and no chute)

We plan on resurfacing 660 ft. to start with and using the current surface for shut down. There is a HUGE cost difference between resurfacing 660 ft. vs 4000 ft.

Never seen any track with a 1/2 mile + shutdown O.D. is the longest in Michigan.......

Yeah, most strips do have between 1/2-3/4 mile shut down... I'm sure it's enough, just doesn't seem like much in number form for some reason...

i've never seen a track with a 3/4 of a mile shut down........

hell i think norwalks shut down is under a 1/2 mile shutdown.......
