:roll: A guy I work with has two C5s. One is a 98, the other an 04. Both are automatic cars. The 98 has 380,000 miles on it. The 04 has 110,000+ on it (daily driver, so it's always ticking). He drives it through winter too. The only thing he has done is replace tires, change the oil, and a brake job on the 98. That's it. Nothing else. No engine problems, no trans problems, just basic maintenance. But I guess they are both a POS :shrug:
 
My dads friend has an 08 Z that he drives everyday..last time i talked to him he had 50,000 on it or so..he told me a story about his friends giving him crap......a lot of his friends were asking him why he drives it everyday..corvettes dont get good gas milage..he told them he gets 30mpg driving 75..he drove a full tank at 60mph and returned 38mpg!..thats better then my moms 04 5 spd cavalier..

the mustang chose to go after the vette when the camaro got axed.
roughly the same price and power..but they got walked everytime..

the base C6 LS3 will walk that 85 thousand dollar PIG.
hell prolly even a 3 year old LS2 hahaha

the vette aint goin anywere..its capable of gettin better mileage then 90% of the fleet..they need to drop GMC and make more fuckin cars..the last few years the quality has gotton 10 times better
 
I'm by no means a "GM Guy" But I would like to have a Vette.

It would be a dam shame if GM stops makeing the Corvette.

EXACTLY! but people get pissed when you tell them you bought it for economy though :gossip:
 
I hope the Corvette sticks around - I'd like to own one some day. I'm a Ford guy at heart, but the LS motor does work. I've owned both a TBSS and now a G8 GT and both run good considering what they are.

could you imagine GM marketing a 436-505 hp vette as an economy car hahaha

a few of my firends got into a fuel consumption debate a few weeks ago..they were all talking ohh i got a 09 kia sonata and shit and i get 30mpg on the hiway, or i got a 08 camry and i get 32 blah blah...i say did you know a 500hp sports car beats you both..there like what?.."yea my dads friend got 38mpg in his 08 Z06"...they didnt have anything to say lol

Its a flagship car all the latest tech comes from corvette. (ABS, Active handling (and magnetic fluid shocks), Hydro formed parts, the LSx engine, ZR rated low profile tires, production quality Carbon fiber body panels, Disc brakes, fuel injection, independent rear suspension, Run flat tires, traction control................and thats just what I remember off of the top of my head!
