I am getting ready to have a trans built a power glide I really dont know much about them, "I am a Ford guy"
I just know that they can handle some power when built right.

1: I need a Trans that can handle between 1000-1200 HP
2: Who should I use Joel or does someone else know of another good glide builder that will build to my spec
3: What can I look to spend not that it matters, I need the trans, tell me anyways
4: Who makes the best converter for a glide, that I can have built to my motor
Thanks in advance

A glide built to handle 1000-1200hp will run you $5k, less the converter. Add another $1k to $1200 for a steel stator converter (do not run a spragless converter.)
With that much hp. you must run a dedenbear or ati super case & extension housing, straight cut planetary (1.80 or other ratio is the most popular ratio),
Reactor flywheel $350ish + speical bolts 40.00 /Driveshaft $400/Good quality shifter/air or electric shifter 6-800ish/mid plate adaptor Ford to Chevy $250/dipstick 45.00/rear urathane mount 20.00/speical mark williams slip yoke for driveshaft 250. Budget for about 8k.

Damn thanks good info
I was thinking about 4k from what I have been reading

You can just get a c-6 like my brother in law did he had all new clutches installed along with a new converter and custom drive shaft all done for a little over $800 bucks and it was rated for over 1000hp they even made it fit with his long tube headers. The place was called reds transmissions but yeah that was installed and everything in his 90 lx. They were even able to hook up his stock shifter because he wanted to keep a sleep look.

my th400 will take 1600hp plus some. didnt spend an arm and a leg on it either........and yes it has seen damn near 1600  prob. doesnt matter much me telling you this if you set on a glide....thought i'd share
