Oil pressure sender voltage?

My mustang had an autometer oil pressure gauge and sender in it. well the new LS motor has the factory oil pressure sender still on it. id rather use the factory one if itll put out the same voltage as its not as hokey looking.

Anyone know if I can just wire up the autometer gauge wire to the factory sender and have it work?

I think a greater issue is that the way the OEM sender generates resistance may be different than the autometer sender and you may not have an accurate gauge response.
