Use my snow plow to start scraping off the top layer in the very back of my yard to build a dirt rc track for the daughter and I :naughty:

Getting bored just running them up and down the little back road my shop driveway is on so I figured wth the area I park my trailers being mainly weeds why not? At first the wife wasn't convinced on getting rid of the grass but I think I'm selling her on it now since it means good times with the kiddo. This is just the beginning of all the hard work, and hopefully I can keep my daughter involved to show her she has to work at something if she wants it. I'll try to keep updated pics, like I said, this is just the 1st two days.

The proposed layout, the red lines were done on the computer to show the layout;

Thanks guys! I'm very enthused that this is a project that can be a Daddy/Daughter one, since I can't seem to get her hooked on the big cars quite yet. She likes to go fast, but not work on them.

badass, I hope I can do this with my daughter (who is currently 10 weeks old)

Couldn't get much accomplished tonight on account of the storms that kept coming through, but did get the straight-away packed down. Just kind of hurried through raking it and packing it so if the rain quit for any amount of time we could play on it once tonight. We've got to go back through and form it how we want, but I have to keep the ground flat enough that I can drive cars and trailers over so it looks like I'll be making some wood/outdoor carpet moveable ramps.

Very cool. Brings back lots of memories. Many, many moons ago (mid to late 80s) I raced an RC-10 in a local race series back in Wisconsin (there was an indoor and outdoor series...I ran both with some on-road conversion work). My buddy and I used his parent's old vegetable garden into a track and practiced there...it was huge...but we used my dad's loader tractor to make all the berms & jumps. Hope you guys have fun!

Yup, I was big into them through highschool, even made a track in our families backyard like you. The entire time I was in the Marine Corps I was into them hardcore and it only got worse while I was stationed in Okinawa, then I came back, got married, bought my first "muscle car" and ended up selling everything off rc related. Now 14 years later I'm inching my way back into them for my daughters enjoyment. Well, ok, mine too! :icon_smil I've really lost touch on these things, all the different batteries and brushless motors, all our stuff is 2nd hand old school stuff for now, we'll see how involved she stays with them before any upgrades.

Funny you say RC10, that's one of the buggies we have (an original gold pan), they are still excellent buggies, even as dated as they are.

Was able to get another corner dug out and got a chance to play on it a bit. I gave my daughter a bit more powerful buggy too. Let's just say it was...interesting :nuts:

Very cool. Yeah, I have my gold pan car and all the related goodies...I saved everything. Just looked at it all about a week ago in fact.

Glad you are both enjoying it.:)
