I bought a car with what was supposed to be 155xxx miles on it, but after getting it home (bought from a person not dealership) I looked the vin up on Lexus's website, and the service history showed twice the milage. I was surprised because the interior is immaculate. Seats are not ripped, leather is in awesome shape, even the pedals dont show extreme wear. Is there anything I can do?
 
Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I have seen odometer discrepancies before because some service advisor incorrectly entered the mileage wrong on a service order.

On the other hand if there's solid proof it's been tampered with then it's possible you have a case. Was the mileage entered on the title as "actual" or "not actual"?
 
I had an issue once when I was selling a car and buying another. The dealership wrote the mileage on the trade-in vehicle on the title for the new (to me) vehicle. Then, when I went to sell that car later, the CarFax showed a big discrepancy in mileage. Luckily, I had the original paperwork that showed the mileage on my trade-in and the mileage recorded on the title, and they were exactly the same. Went to the SOS and had them issue a corrected/new title with the actual mileage.

So, just remember, mistakes happen. Also, I've never seen a Lexus with 300,000 miles.
 
I bought a Taurus SHO several years back as a winter car. It was good looking, clean and had a few distinctive mods (Tokico Shocks & Struts and Eibach Springs. I want to say the odometer said 60,000. After I had it about a month, I was looking at an auto trader and saw the same car for sale with well over 100,000 miles. I called the number and spoke to the guy. His name was still on the title, but he explained what the guy that bought the car looked like and told me his name. The guy I bought it from bought it, never titled it, rolled the odometer back and sold it for quite a bit more than he bought it for. I called the guy I bought it from and long story short, basically said I know the story. You come get the car today and pay for my taxes and titling of the car or I'm reporting you. I made sure to write all of my info in dark ink, marked not actual mileage and got all of my money back from him.
 
There is an extensive service history thru the dealer that shows the rising mileage on the car. Seller never switched car into his name, I dont think he was the culprit on it But I could be wrong. I didnt even realize the milage wasnt recorded on the title. But it reads 155xxx on the odometer and was sold as such. But I searched the vin and found the service history that he told me he looked at also, but he told me the last maintenance was the timing belt in 2008, which was incorrect. Last dealer visit was in 2011 at 297000 miles.

Its pretty common for an LS400 to get 3-400,000 miles if maintained.

Lexus/Toyota... I went to the dealership earlier this week for a part and there was an FJ80 Landcruiser like mine... so naturally I looked inside. It had 360k miles on it and it looked like 50k. I asked the service guy about it and he said it was an older couple who drives all around the country and that several of the techs at the place have asked them if they want to sell and they won't.
 
Seller legally has to take the car back if you can prove odometer fraud. If you can prove the seller committed the fraud (proof would be hard) you might be eligible for punitive damages too.
 
Not to hijack. But, What about an older vehicle with a cluster swap but previous cluster mileage was disclosed to buyer?

This is legal, if not intended to defraud a buyer, they say to put a tag in the door jamb with the original mileage and the mileage on the replacement cluster when installed. ....or send the replacement to a certified facility to reprogram the mileage yo the original
