Obscure side air bag question - 2011-12 Mustang

Can anyone tell me the resistance in ohms of the driver side airbag on a 2011-12 Mustang GT? I installed an aftermarket seat, and need to terminate the side airbag wire.

All the unofficial info I've come across stated 1.7 to 2.7 ohms. So I soldered up a plug with two 1-ohm resistors.

it measures 1.97 ohms, but after install the airbag warning light is still on - no flashing fault code, just solid.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The car didn't throw any codes readable with my OBD scanner. In older Mustangs (sn95), I believe there was a plug under the glove box that you could trip to reset the system, but that plug is not there, or is a different color, in this model.

if the light is on, there is a code, what scan tool are you using?

Just a cheap OBD II scanner, like what you can get at Meijers...and just saw that I'll need a different scanner to read/reset the airbag system.

"Prior to 2005, most models utilized Flash Codes --the airbag light would flash a 2 digit code repeatedly before remaining lit continuously. The airbag codes can be read by counting the flashes on the dash light (flash, flash, pause, flash, = a code 21 on the fault code chart). The system would clear itself once the fault was corrected. Subsequent to 2005, most models require a scan tool to read the codes, configure the controller and/or clear the light."

Would one of the parts stores would be able to do this real quick? Don't want to spend a lot of $ on a new scanner.
