im looking for steal racks or its called pallet racks....sorry, im looking for them to be able to hold up engines trans an parts, please let me no asap, ive seen few up but like to have 8 plus feet tall an 8 wide, need about 10 or so maybe more

i buy mine through a broker on the west side of the state used. It all adds up fast $$$

I priced some out just last week.. probably the same vendor....... price was outrageous... I did not compare yet, but I think I can purchase new cheaper.
It came out to over 800 for 3 uprights 24" deep 12' tall and 24 3" x 8' beams .. light duty pallet racks.

I bought huge order about 4 years ago and I make him price match every single time :lol: My orders are roughly atleast 10k everytime I put one in though...
I think hes about 30-40% higher than what I originally bought.
 
We get all our racks from Terminal Steel on 7 mile in Detroit. The uprights are what cost the most, shelving is not too bad, save a few bucks and buy the used stuff..... it's usually still in great shape. They even deliver.

I quoted a few guys off of CL.

36" deep Teardrop x10' high (my max) - $45/upright
Cross beams - $12-15 for 8'
Wire - $15-25.

Wire usually needs a coat of paint as it's usually surface rusted.
I rattle canned most of what I had, the wire obviously eats up paint from overspray.

I put some up as is, and would like to rattle can them someday, the rest is rattle canned, and looks good.

If you are only looking for small quanitites, it seems you can work out some decent prices.

There is a guy on Oakley park and Martin road in commerce Township, He sells used and new. I run into him or his guys all the time. when we get pallet racking we sell it for $125-200 a section. The stuff you are looking for should be cheap as 8' is just useless for most warehousing. We typically get 16 to 24 foot uprights.
