Not impressed with Lidio's quality

I dropped my car off at the beginning of this week to get long tube headers installed and a dyno tune at Alternative Automotive. Lidio said the car was running great and he dyno tuned it and it was ready to go on thursday. He also claimed that he test drove it himself and verified it was running good. I picked it up today and it has bad exhaust leaks by both O2 sensors......how'd you miss that?! and then you had it on the dyno and tuned it like that?! really? is that a joke? I am beyond pissed. If something is wrong with the car....let me know. Don't release it to me claiming its running great.

How is there a leak, all you do is screw them in, there is no gasket.

Regardless, just tighten them down yourself.........7/8" open end wrench works fine.

I've never heard anything but praise when it comes to his work. Everyone that I have spoken to that has gone there has been nothing short of pleased. Not sure what to say.
 
So did you have them fix it before leaving with it?

This post shouldn't even be happening if you haven't tried to resolve the issue with the shop. Lido has a long following of happy customers so this should be taken care of by them without issue.
 
Yeah I called him and left a message. I am sure he'll take care of it. But it doesnt make me less mad. He had the car for a week. Told me that he drove it himself and was running great and was perfect. If there are exhaust leaks that bad, how do you not notice that? On top of that, how do you dyno tune the car like that?!

I got SLP LT and an SLP catted X. Its a slip fit type exhaust system. Where the LTs meet the cats is not sealed.
 
I don't know about you - but where I come from - we man up and have a discussion face to face with someone (like adults) before resorting to something like this. Had he said "fuck off" or given you the run around instead of fixing the problem....then maybe this avenue is appropriate. But, you gotta give him that chance first. Knowing how many people are satisfied with what he does, I have a hard time believing he won't try to correct it.

And your issue with him having the car all week - you're not his only customer and sometimes demand for a qualified individual like Lidio increases. Maybe you don't see the workings of a shop from the hotline chair....but most would agree with it only being 1 week - it's nothing unreasonable.

So before you even give the guy a chance to make things right, you go straight to an internet forum and bash him? I doubt he would have an issue looking things over for you.

If your so super smart with your hotline job, why in the living he'll would you pay ANYONE to put your headers on? ESPECIALLY $1200.00!!!!??? I can see 200-300 for a dyno tune to pay a person, but that's about it.
